Create a Hostname

Last update:2026-07-24 11:44:43

This article describes how to quickly add a hostname and configure content delivery rules for it.

Step 1: Create a property

Log in to the portal. On the list of subscribed products, find CDN Pro, then click it to open CDN Pro console. Click the left-side menu Edge configuration > Properties to enter the properties management page. Then click the Create Property button.

Step 2: Configure the Property

On the property creation form, fill in required fields, including basic information, hostnames, origins and edge logic.

2.1 Basic information

Enter the basic information for the new property:

  • Property name: Enter a name for the property.
  • Property description: Enter a description for the property.
  • Service type: Select the service type for the property.

2.2 Add hostnames and origins

Under the Basic Configuration section, enter hostnames and add origins:

  • Hostnames: Enter the hostnames to accelerate. Use commas to separate multiple hostnames.
  • Origin Details: Click Add, then configure origin in the Origin Details form. The main fields required are Origin Name and Servers. For Origin Name, enter a name for your origin. For Servers, enter domain (or IP address) and ports of your origin. You can also configure Advanced Settings as needed. After completing the configuration, click Save to add the origin.

2.3 Configure cache rules

Configure cache rules under the section Basic Configuration > Edge Logic:

Click the Wizard button to generate cache rules from templates. There are several builtin templates curated for different use cases. Choose a template that best fits your needs, then click Next.

You will see the cache rules of the selected template. You can custom the rules as needed. Click Confirm to have the rules automatically converted into NGINX script which is used to populate the Edge Logic editor.

Step 3: Save / validate / deploy

3.1 Save and validate

After completing the configuration, click the Save & Validate button at the bottom of the page to submit and validate the new property.

The system will start validation in the background to ensure the syntax of the configuration is correct. Please wait for validation to complete.

3.2 Deploy

After the property is validated, the system will prompt you to deploy. Click Deploy Now to proceed.

Select the target environment for deployment. You can choose to deploy to production. Alternatively, deploy to staging first and verify things work before deploying to production.

The system will start the deployment in the background. This usually takes 1–2 minutes. Please wait for deployment to complete.

After deployment completes, you can view the status on the Properties page.

You can also check deployment status on the Deployment page. The deployment being successful indicates that the configuration has been deployed to our servers and that the servers are ready to handle traffic for the hostname.

Congratulations! You’ve finished adding the hostname!
