Application Names and Delivery Protocols

Application Names defines the application paths allowed in stream URLs. Delivery Protocols controls the playback protocols available on a delivery domain.
Before you begin
- You have access to Media Acceleration Live Broadcast > Configuration in the CDNetworks console.
- You know whether you are configuring an ingest domain or a delivery domain.
- Live Streaming Features is unavailable for delivery domains that use HLS Origin Pull.
- Delivery Protocols is available only for delivery domains. It is not shown for ingest domains.
Configure application names
Application names restrict ingest and delivery requests to the configured application paths. For example, in rtmp://example.com/live/stream, live is the application name and stream is the stream name.
- Go to Media Acceleration Live Broadcast > Configuration.
- In the domain list, find the target domain.
- In the Actions column, choose Edit Configuration.
- In the configuration navigation, choose Live Streaming Features > Application Names.
- Choose Add.
- In the Application Name dialog box, enter the Application name, then choose Confirm.
- At the bottom of the page, choose Save Draft or Next, and then follow the on-screen prompts.
Configure delivery protocols
Choose the playback protocols you want to offer on the delivery domain. Configure HLS playlist settings if needed.
- Go to Media Acceleration Live Broadcast > Configuration.
- In the domain list, find the delivery domain.
- In the Actions column, choose Edit Configuration.
- In the configuration navigation, choose Live Streaming Features > Delivery Protocols.
- Choose Edit.
- In the Delivery Protocols dialog box, configure the delivery protocols and HLS settings, then choose Confirm.

- At the bottom of the page, choose Save Draft or Next, and then follow the on-screen prompts.
