For different file types and request methods, CDNetworks CDN platform provides different cache policies and default Cache TTL based on various business scenarios:

  • Webpage type: Generally used for web acceleration resources with small content size
  • Download type: Generally used for download-related services, where the content size is large

Default Cache Rules for Webpage Types

Cache with Query string shtml, html, htm, js 12 hours

All Requests Other Files 24 hours

Requests with Query strings gif, swf, png, bmp 24 hours
Requests with Query strings cgi 10 minutes
All Requests mp3, wma 12-24 hours
All Requests wmv 24 hours
All Requests Other file/protocol types 24 hours
