After you create or edit a property, CDN Pro only saves the configuration in the backend. To make the configuration take effect in production traffic, you must push it to CDN Pro edge nodes by deploying the property. When a hostname no longer needs to be accelerated, you can undeploy the property to remove its configuration from edge nodes.
This article describes how to deploy and undeploy a property.
Click the left-side menu Edge Configuration > Properties to open the property list, then open the details page of a property by either of the following:
In the versions drop-down, select the version you want to deploy, then click the Deploy button on the right.
When the “Deployment Target” dialog appears, choose the target environment: Staging (default) or Production, then click Deploy Now to deploy the selected version to the chosen environment.
Note:
- Environments: CDN Pro provides a staging and a production environment. We strongly recommend testing your property in Staging first, and deploying to Production only after tests pass.
- Add to Standby Tasks: If you don’t want to deploy immediately, you can add the deployment to Standby Task for batch deployment or to execute during off-peak hours.
Before deployment, the system checks the version currently running in the target environment:
Confirm to proceed. The system will start a deployment task to push the configuration to edge nodes worldwide. Deployment typically completes within 3 minutes. If you don’t want to wait on the page, click Hide to let the task continue in the background. You can view the progress anytime in deployment tasks.
You have now completed the property deployment operation.
Click the left-side menu Edge Configuration > Properties to open the property list. In the Actions column for the target property, click the ellipsis icon, then click either Undeploy from Staging or Undeploy from Production.
Note: If no version of the property has been deployed to the target environment, there is nothing to remove. You can only undeploy a property when the property is deployed in that environment. When a property is not deployed to a target environment, the corresponding action is disabled.
When presented the confirmation box, confirm to proceed. The system starts a task to remove the configuration from CDN Pro edge nodes. Undeployment typically completes within 3 minutes. If you don’t want to wait on the page, click Hide to let the task continue in the background. You can view progress anytime in deployment tasks.
You can view the deployment history of a property at any time, including both deployment and undeployment tasks.
Click the left side menu Edge Configuration > Properties to open property list page. On this page:
After clicking Deployment History, the system navigates (with the property ID prefilled) to Tasks > Deployment page, where you can view the corresponding property’s deployment and undeployment history.
