2.1 API Permission & Scope Management

In order to minimize API requests permissions, API Shield allows customers to associate the API Consumer with dedicated API assets. After association，those API assets can only be requested by their API Consumer. Customer can even set a valid time period for a consumer to request API assets.
With the help of API permission and scope management, customer can strictly control the API consumer’s permission. It can effectively isolate different consumer groups and avoid sensitive API data being invoked by unauthorized users at the same time.

2.2 How It Works

After the API consumer is created, API Shield will generate a consumer ID. As long as the end user carries this ID in the request, it will be recognized by our platform.
