Deploy the Configurations to Staging Environment for Validation

Last update:2024-05-22 15:21:30

Pre-deployment is a feature provided by CDNetworks to ensure that your configurations can be validated in a test environment before being officially deployed to the production environment. The test environment uses CDN edge servers completely isolated from the production environment, ensuring that any test configurations do not impact the live CDN services. Once the configuration is validated and meets your expectations in the test environment, you can then deploy it to the live environment.

Steps to Use Pre-Deployment for Testing

  1. Configure Pre-Deployment: After completing the configuration in the console, follow the steps to select OK - Next - Pre-Deploy to deploy the configuration to our test environment.

  2. Modify Local HOSTS File: Approximately 1-5 minutes after the configuration is deployed, it will take effect in the test environment. At this point, you will see the IP addresses of the testing edge servers. To test these configurations, you need to point your domain to these IP addresses by modifying your local HOSTS file. The path to the HOSTS file is as follows:

    • Windows OS: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
    • Linux/Mac OS: /etc/hosts

Click Click to copy all, paste the copied content into your local HOSTS file, and save the changes.
  3. Test the Pre-Deploy: After modifying the HOSTS file, your domain will point to the IP addresses of our test environment. You can now test whether your configuration meets your expectations in this test environment.

  4. Deploy to Production: If the test is successful, you can click Deploy Now to apply the configuration to the production environment.
