Edit a Property

After you create a property, you may need to test the configuration and then edit or fine tune the configuration based on test results. This article describes how to edit a property.

1. Open the Properties Page

Click the left-side menu Edge Configuration > Properties to open the Properties page.

2. Open the Property Details Page

There are two ways to open the Property Details Page:

1. In the property list, find the property you want to edit and click its property name.

2. In the property list, find the property you want to edit and click the view icon in the Actions column.

3. Edit the Property Configuration

1. Edit Basic Information: Click the pencil icon to modify the Property Name and Property Description fields. Click the checkmark to confirm, or the cross to cancel. Note: Service Type field cannot be modified.

2. Choose a Version to Edit: Open the versions drop-down list, select the version you want to edit, then click Edit on the right to start editing the selected version.

Tip:
Versions marked with a lock icon indicate that the versions were ever deployed to the staging or production environment. To avoid potential confusion with respect to the actual configuration represented by a version, the system does not allow editing a version that’s once deployed. Take such versions as “releases”. If you want to work based on the configuration of a version, click the Clone Version & Edit button on the right to clone the configuration and create a new version.

3. Edit Configuration: In the edit form, you can modify Basic Configuration, Edge Logic, TLS Settings, Advanced Settings, and more. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk. For detailed field descriptions, see edge configuration.

4. Save and Validate Your Changes

After editing the property configuration, use the buttons at the bottom of the form to save/validate it.

1. Save the property

Click Save to save the property configuration. The system performs basic syntax checks and prompts you to correct errors if any are found. Note that saving a property does not make it active on CDN Pro edge nodes; it is saved as a draft so you can continue editing later.

2. Save and validate the property

Click Save & Validate to save the configuration and validate it. A pop-up indicates that validation is in progress, which usually takes less than a minute. You can wait on the page or click Hide in the pop-up to close it. You can then click the left menu Tasks > Validation to view validation tasks. If validation fails, check the error messages to fix the configuration and validate again. Only properties that pass validation can be deployed to the staging or production environment.
