With the rapid development of the Internet and mobile applications, APIs(Application Programming Interface) have become the cornerstone of various software development, promoting seamless connectivity and data sharing between applications. The development trend of APIs is very rapid, and in recent years, the number and complexity of APIs have grown exponentially. More and more enterprises and organizations are making APIs a part of their core business and building their own API ecosystem. However, due to the openness and ease of access of APIs, they also face various security threats.

CDNetworks’ API security strategy is based on the “Discovery-Definition-Protection” process to achieve the minimum closed loop of API security:

Discovery: Based on the API recognition model defined by CDNetworks, dynamically detect traffic data and automatically discover APIs. Automatically aggregate APIs and extract interface styles to help customers organize their API asset inventory.
Definition: Based on known API asset information and the API Discovery function, create, name, and group various APIs to provide API authentication, API request parameter compliance detection, and API request body compliance detection capabilities.
Protection: According to the defined API characteristics, the authentication key, request parameters and request body of the API are detected in real time, and illegal APIs are dealt with.
