What is IAM

IAM (Identity and Access Management) is provided by CDNetworks, to control the access permission of users. Customer use IAM to manage the users’ identity easily and control users’ permission safely.
CDNetworks offers each customer a main account automatically, the main account has full access permission of all the services and resources that customer purchased. If customer wants to assign different people to manage his services and resources separately, IAM should be used in this scenario. Main account create users(also called sub accounts) on IAM, then assign different services and resources to these users.

IAM Features

• Centralized management of users and their passwords and access keys: Main account use IAM to create user, manage their password, generate access key for them.
• Centralized control of the access permissions of users: Main account use IAM to grant one or multiple resources or permissions to users, IAM also allowed customer to pack certain resource as one package for easier permission granting.

Best Practice

A Customer purchased CDNetworks products of DWA, MALB, Flood shield and object storage. He wants to authorize different departments to manage different products or different domains. In this situation Customer could use IAM to do it.

The operations are as follows:
Step 1: Customer login Console with main account, access IAM
Step 2: Create users, fill in the users information such as user name, email, password and access key management.
Step 3: permissions for cloud database C and object storage space B.
