Add a protected hostname

1. Log in to the CDNetworks Console, find the Cloud Security 2.0 in use under Subscribed Products.
2. Go to Security Settings > Policies.

1. Select Hostnames

• On the Policies tab. Click +Protected Hostname.
• Choose the CDN acceleration product used by the hostname that needs to be added to the Cloud Security 2.0, and select the hostname from the optional list.

Tips：The optional hostnames are those that are currently using the CDN acceleration service on the Cloud Security Platform. If the hostname that needs to be added to the Cloud Security 2.0 is not in the optional list, please first add the hostname under the corresponding CDN acceleration service.

• Click Next.

2. Select initial policies

• Select the initial policies for the hostname, and support the following two methods. Choose the method according to your needs:
  • Recommended default policies: Default configurations pre-built by the system, with protection capabilities that are ready to use out of the box. You can test and fine-tune these configurations according to your needs.
  • Duplicate policies from an existing hostname: Choose a hostname that has already been added to the Cloud Security 2.0 as a reference. The newly connected hostname will use the same protection policies as the reference hostname.

-Tips: The automatically generated protection thresholds and rules dynamically generated by systems like recommendations of the WAF’s managed rule exception and Adaptive Protection for application layer DDoS protection will not be referenced.

• Click Next.

3. Confirm initial policies

• Select Recommended default policies for policies initialization:
• If there are no special protection needs, you can keep the default policy, and then view the protection details through the report and logs, to optimize the policy;
• If there are special protection needs, you can fine-tune the default policy and manage the policy according to the actual protection needs after added the hostname. Please refer to each policy configuration description:
  • 1.Set the DDoS Protection Policies
  • 2.Set Bot Management Policies
  • 3.Set WAF Policies
  • 4.Threat Intelligence
• Select Duplicate policies from an existing hostname to initialize the policies, confirm whether the policy of the reference hostname meets the expectations.
• Click Next to finish “+ Protected Hostname”.
